Camp Benzon

It was allot of fun at camp benzon I was in team Mansion. I met lots of new friends their and new people. Our first rotation was on Thursday. Mansion B which I was in went kayaking first. Erren who was the Teacher of kayaking told us the instructions and what we are going to do. After that we got ready by wearing the right gear and the right foot wear. Swimming togs ready, water shoes ready and life jacket ready, shouted Erren yes we all replied.

Finally we worked together to get our kayaks and push it out onto the shore. Erren had to kayak of first so we can all follow her. After a while she called us to paddle with her so we got into our kayaks while remembering to get inside by putting your right foot in bum in and left foot in. As we all Paddled it was scary for some people and okay for the rest, but everyone loved kayaking. Favourite activities check!

Camp is only 80 dollars, the real cost is more then 100 dollars. That’s an opportunity for all year 6’s at Pt England School, so year 5’s you better go next year.

Visiting Saturn

Blasting of into space was frightening, I don't even know why I wanted to go there in the first place, in fact I did not even know what I was doing inside a rocket ship. Is this a dream or is this real life. "Ahaaaaaaaaaa" what am I wearing, am I wearing a space suit or some kind of bee protector, never mind unless I am safe! I wonder how the Aliens and planets will look like. Have you ever went on a adventure out in space? Well this is my first time and the problem is I don't know much about space!

As I switched of the engine the rocket ship landed on a planet with a sighn saying welcome to Saturn. I hopped of with my suit on to see what was there. Some parts was rocky and some parts were smooth, it was pretty. While spying for new stuff I saw rings around the planet. It looked so cool! Suddenly I felt a huge rumble, it forced me to run back into the rocket but before I stepped inside I woke up from a huge sleep. "Oh that was a relief"!

Aussie Rules

Its a pleasure to have Pt England taught how to play an Australian Sport called AFL Aussie Rules. Some AFL players has gave up there time to teach us Aussie Rules and other games that's similar to it.

Thursdays every week our class and room 17 goes after morning tea to AFL Aussie Rules. Megan and Alisa is the names of the girls that teaches us. My favourite highlight is playing baseball with them but in a different way. The baseball we were playing was the same rules but you had to bounce it between every base you run to, also instead of bating the tennis ball you had to kick the AFL ball to your target. First Megan took my class and Alisa took room 17 to tell the instructions to us. While Megan was telling us the instructions I was so happy because it sounded really fun. Finally instruction telling was finished and we got into groups of two, I was in number 1.

As I stood in the line I was nervous but when I watched Everybody else do it I gave it a try. When it was my turn I giggled hilariously and then kicked the ball. As soon as I kicked it I Sprinted to the other base while bouncing the ball but it was too late, the other team had cached it. Disappointed and happy at the same time because I had a go I sat down at the back of the line. Mr Somerville which is our teacher in room 16 told us it was a tie so we all cheered as we went back to say bye to Megan and Alisa. It was allot of fun but it was more interesting to me because it was the first time I'eve played AFL baseball in my life.

Rugby World Cup Opening Ceromony

Wow the Rugby World Cup Ceremony was so amazing, It took a long time but it was worth it. The fantastic part was when the graphics and animations came up while the actors were acting. It was the first time I’ve ever watched a RWC in New Zealand that awesome before. There was a lucky boy that got to act in the first part of the ceremony which is about him versing against a massive team in rugby. This boy come from Christchurch and has always wanted to play for the Christchurch rugby team.

Soon after that he was even luckier because he got walk in the middle of the great names of rugby players in the past. Suddenly he saw a man behind a smokey entrance. I hoped it was a famous rugby player that played for the All Blacks but I knew I am wrong. Waiting desperately to see who it was I saw Jonah Lomu, I was right after all. Jonah Lomu is a famous rugby player because he is the only man that has scored more then anyone else. Everybody was screaming and shouting while taking photos and so was me.

Even though Tonga is tough the All blacks is smart and I knew that All Blacks is going to win but Tonga is going to try their best. I went for Tonga and I hoped Tonga was going to win.

My Holiday

Waking up early in the morning to start my holiday was fun. I couldn't wait to start going somewhere with my family, but at the same time I missed my friends and our teacher.

My mum called me to ask me if I wanted to go with her to get some snacks and drinks. I answered “yes” as I ran to the car. It was so cool because my mum said I can choose some things for my cousins. So as soon as We got to Pak'nsave I went to buy a box of cup cakes, some drinks and chips. The things that I got for me was muffins and two cakes for the whole family. After that my mum told me to put it into the trolley and wait for her at the counter. I wondered what she was going to get but I doubt it was for me. When she came back she had lots of things for my niece cause she loves her so much!

Tactile Dome

At our trip to Motat we went to the Tactile Dome, it is my favourite highlight as I crawled with my friends through the dark and scary course. There was a huge net right in front of me but I was too scared to climb it. Finally I got rid of my fear and climbed like an afraid little girl.

My second highlight was the mirror maze, as I survived getting lost from one-hundred mirrors. At first I thought it was easy, but it wasn't, my heart was pumping as I lost my way out. Finally I saw my class running around beside me so I followed them and found my way out!

Sadly it was time to go. We got our bags and lined up with our class near the exit gate. We all said a big thank you to Fraser, who was the person that helped us at Motat and the parents that helped us. Then we tiredly hopped in the bus.

Mary V TAllest Tower Animation

On the first week of term 2 we got told from our teacher to make a tall tower out of paper. I chose to work with my friend, Zion, Turuhira and Dante. Mr S gave us a meter of tape, glue, big pieces of paper and a pair of scissors. When we started building our tower it started out rough because the tape was sticking to our fingers,The tape finally came off and Zion had an idea. Her idea was to stand up four circular legs at the bottom with one leg laid down at the top, we decided to keep on doing it until it was tall but our plan didn't work. Time ran out and we still hadn't come up with another idea. In the last minute we thought of an idea but it was too late, we didn't have time to make it.

As we watched the other groups bring their tower to the mat we were shy because we were almost the only ones that didn't have a proper tower. Mateo’s group had the tallest and strongest tower out of all the groups in our class so they won.

Swimming at YMCA

At school my class walked down to YMCA for swimming Lessons. As we went into the changing room to change into our swimming togs lots of kids from Glen Tailor were still changing into their uniform. After I was in my swimming togs I walked to rinse myself, there were some cold showers and some warm showers. All the warm showers were already used so I had to rinse at the freezing cold shower. Soon it was my turn to freestyle in the pools, I was so nervous. As soon as I pushed my feet against the wall to go I felt confident. I was so relieved when I finished swimming! I love swimming

Having an Awesome Holiday in Hastings

During my Holiday me and my family went down to Hastings to spend our holiday with my oldest brother. I was really glad to see him because I haven't seen him for ages. He looked so different that I didn't even recognise him standing at the airport, waiting to pick us up. They slept in a Town Lodge Motel and it looked really cool. There was a huge swimming pool at the back of it and it was so big. My brother told me I could swim in it whenever I wanted to. Saturday morning was my last day there, the 1st of May. My brother took me shopping for new clothes at the Mall, he is really kind. I was very happy that I got to see my brother again.

My Teacher Mr Somerville

My teacher Mr Somerville is a fantastic teacher, he is new to our school at Pt England. He is my favourite teacher so far because he is fun and lets us sit outside on the deck or in the cloakroom. You would want to be in his class next year if you go to Pt England school. The country that he comes from is New Zealand and was born in Napier. He travels around in lots of country's and that is exiting, that is one of the things I like about him. As you walk past our class you will spot him because he has curly hair that looks really cool. Embarrassing moment 2004

It all started on December the 6Th, the day of prize giving. I stood up on at my old school Rapotaka for the first time of my life. As I stood up and walked towards the stage I tripped on the stairs and fell into the gap between it. I tried to get out but I couldn't so the principal came to help me. It was really embarrassing for me because the whole school was watching, I wanted to disappear instantly without anybody noticing.

After I was rescued from the stage I was saved by my mum because she came to kiss me on the cheek because I won a prize for a fantastic student helper. That was my second embarrassing moment for that day! I don’t ever want to be embarrassed in my life again!

Tokyo Disaster

On Friday the 11th of march There has been a huge 8.9 earthquake that just hit Tokyo, followed by a tsunami. It caused lots of major disasters that ruined the place of Tokyo. The tsunami flushed many people into the ocean as they were picking up fish, while the tide and rushed back like a wall of water. The earthquake was out of control damaging roads as it splits in half.

People were taking refuge right after they knew the earthquake hit. Some people were terrified as they saw many people trapped in buildings. God bless Tokyo in life and also help rescuers rescue loved ones from trapped buildings.

At the Beach

As it started to get hot on summer, me and my family members decided to go and cool down at the beach. I was so exited because my favourite cousins were coming. I asked my mum what beach we were going to go to, she said that we are going to go to Mission-bay. I was even more exited when she said Mission-bay, it is one of my favourite beach's. While I was packing in a rush, I thought of how much fun we are going to have. Lots of fun!

Chaos In Christchurch

There has been a terrible earthquake in Christchurch, that just happened yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon. Many have died and most are injured, but there are still people trapped in lots of buildings that have collapsed. Rescuers have saved some more people from houses and buildings so I am sure people have thanked you all. This is very sad and terrible so may people help.

As I watch photos and videos I see hundreds of people come out of buildings with blood all over their body. People have run away with horror as cliffs are destroyed and before parts roll down. People can’t believe this because it is very heart-breaking, I cant even believe it myself.

Family’s have slept in their cars and people don’t even know what to do. I would love to help in many ways so people in Christchurch would have back what they had.

Base ball with Cola

Yesterday after lunch, room thirteen went to go and practis base ball with Cola. Cola use to play base ball, that’s why Cola came to our school and teach us base ball. When Cola was telling us what to do, I didn’t know what to do because I could’t under stand Cola. Then Cola told us to be in coulors. There were only two coulors to chose from. A red coulor and a blue coulor. The red team had to field and the blue team got to bat. I wanted to bat, but I could’t because I was in the red team and I could’t change because it’s just wasting our time. When the person was bating, the person that was fielding had to catch the ball. Then we had to change over. So the people that was fielding is bating and the people that was bating is now fielding. Then we were finished and we had to sit under a tree and Cola was saying to us practis and practics until I come back in 2 weeks time.

Then Mr Burt had to talk to us do not touch the screen, and Mr Burt keeped talking to us and then Mr Burt stoped talking to us. Then it was time to open the netbook. Mrs Burt showed us how to open our netbook, then we had to copy Mrs Burt. Then we got to play some games, but mine went blank, because mine needed charging.
