Stormy Day (Narrative)

As I was struggling to walk along the sand,  the roaring wind kept on blowing against me as if I wasn't allowed to walk any further. I could feel the sand beating my face, it was stinging me like a bee.  Seagulls were huddling together while their feathers were being buffeted  by the wind. I looked up and noticed that everything was dull like the thunderous clouds in the sky.

Suddenly my hat blew away, I tried to tell my mum to catch it but all she heard was the howling wind snatching my words away. “Hey that seagull’s running away with my green hat,” I yelled. The soaring seagull flew off before my eyes, carrying my hat with it’s beak. “Oh no I've lost my hat forever,” I thought. That wasn't any old hat, it was given to me as a gift  from my best friend that recently moved away to Australia. Now I don’t have anything to remember her by.
Searching through the hazy fog to look for the stubborn seagull, I spotted a glimpse of bright green, floating along with the strong wind in the dark sky. I could see the green circle coming closer and closer. “It’s going to hit me,” I thought to myself. “Wait a minute, Isn't that my hat,” I said to my mum. “Yea It looks like it,” mum replies. It is my hat,” I screamed with happiness! I cached my it and put it in my bag so I don’t lose it again.

Finally we turned to go home. As we walked further to the parking lot we could hear the enormous waves pounding onto the sand. As we hopped in the car my goosebumps started to disappear because of the warmth of the heater. "Now were ready to go home," mum said.

My Two Best Friends

Do you have best friends that are very complex? Well if you do this is a great story for you!
Having two very best friends isn’t always easy. They fall out - we fall out. They are in a bad mood - we are all in a bad mood. Today was no different but for the fact that I was leaving forever my two best friends didn’t know what to do without me.

This morning I walked over to school with Charlotte and Kathryn, my two best friends. I knew they were still thinking about stopping me from going to Australia but they wouldn’t tell me. While we were strolling to school, I asked them if they were bothered about anything. Their response was “of course not why would we have something bothering us”. I was so sure that their words weren't true so I refused about what they said and asked them again. This time their response was different. They admitted that they didn’t want me to go. I replied to them and said “I agree with you I really don't want to leave you or New Zealand, I know that every minute I’m at Australia I will always remember my experience here.” At that moment I knew I belonged in New Zealand with my two best friends so I decided to ask my parents if we could stay.

The next morning I woke up and went to have breakfast. Mum saw my deprest face so she asked me if I was alright. I replied and said “mum if I don’t want to leave New Zealand and go to Australia will you and dad stay with me”, “of course dear why didn’t you tell me” mum said. I was relieved that it was easy to ask her and happy that we weren’t leaving anymore. I couldn't wait to spread the news to Charlotte and Kathryn!!!!

Oscar Claude Monet

Claude Monet is an very artistic artist. I like the way he mixes the colours
together to make a creative and a realistic artwork. Did you know he is one of the most famous artist in the history of arts, his works can be seen in museums around the world.

Oscar Claude Monet was born on November 14, 1840. He was the second son of Claude-Adolphe and Louise-Justine Aubree Monet. On May 20, 1841 he was baptized into the local church parish. As years past his family moved to Le Harvre in Normandy.

Monet past away of lung cancer on December 5, 1926 at the age of 86 and is buried in the Giverny church cemetery, What a tragedy to the people who loved him.

Art Alive

This term we are studying about Art and Patterns. Art Alive is all about how we can perceive artworks in different ways. I prefer to learn more about what the artworks mean when I look at it. Did you know that some people create art with a special meaning or a story about their life? I’m looking forward to studying art and patterns. Maybe I would have time to make one too.

Fortunately I do have time to make an artwork because this term I am focusing on Vincent Van Gogh’s art works and how he became an impressionist artist, because I like his paintings and drawings.

Vincent Van Gogh was an Impressionist, he was known as an famous artist for his brushed paintings and his wonderful work. Vincent Van Gogh’s life began on 30th of March 1853 and ended on 29th of July 1890. Van Gogh suffered from temporal lobe epilepsy as well as other mental and physical conditions. Vincent committed suicide by shooting himself in a wheatfield in Auvers, France but he did not die until 2 days past.

He was a painter who went from Holland to Paris and then the south of France. Gogh sold only one of his paintings before he died but soon became famous after he died because Vincent's brother’s wife collected Vincent paintings and letters after his death and dedicated herself to getting his work the recognition it deserved. Vincent Van Gogh painted about 900 paintings during his life but his first painting he sold was named the Starry Night, no one seemed to by his other paintings. From now on Vincent Van Gogh is an impressionist artist.

Our Outrageous Camp

Packing my bags anxiously for “camp” made me think about how I couldn't wait for it to happen. All that I can think of is how priceless and charming camp is going to be. On the first day of camp, I was searching for my friends so we can see if we are all sleeping in the same tent. Once we saw that our names were together we were full of joy.

My group name was Respectorz, there were about 24 people in each group. The other group names was Respect Squad, Respect Crew, Team Respecters, Respectronics and Respectables. Every group was talented and amusing but entertaining people was what we were best at.

All the activities that we had was Kayaking, Table Tennis, Skating, Amazing Race, Box Fit, Zumba and cooking. Every day we went to the pools and had a little swim and afterwards a shower, that was one of my favourite highlights because it was refreshing.

Every morning we got up and done some Jump Jam, loads of people didn’t even stretch a muscle. I knew they haven't woken up properly and sometimes I am one of them.

At last in the final day of camp we went on the bus to the Pamure pools, "Swimarama". I was already exited because I knew it will be a Humorous day. "OMG the WARRIORS are here" everyone in the pool were cheering for them, as they are a national league team. I couldn't believe that Manu Vatuvei and Kevin Locke were here unfortunately Kevin Locke couldn't swim because he was sick. GO THE WARRIORS !!

Thank you to Athena for checking my work.

Swimming at YMCA

At school my class walked down to YMCA for swimming Lessons. As we went into the changing room to change into our swimming togs lots of kids from Glen Tailor were still changing into their uniform. After I was in my swimming togs I walked to rinse myself, there were some cold showers and some warm showers. All the warm showers were already used so I had to rinse at the freezing cold shower. Soon it was my turn to freestyle in the pools, I was so nervous. As soon as I pushed my feet against the wall to go I felt confident. I was so relieved when I finished swimming! I love swimming

Having an Awesome Holiday in Hastings

During my Holiday me and my family went down to Hastings to spend our holiday with my oldest brother. I was really glad to see him because I haven't seen him for ages. He looked so different that I didn't even recognise him standing at the airport, waiting to pick us up. They slept in a Town Lodge Motel and it looked really cool. There was a huge swimming pool at the back of it and it was so big. My brother told me I could swim in it whenever I wanted to. Saturday morning was my last day there, the 1st of May. My brother took me shopping for new clothes at the Mall, he is really kind. I was very happy that I got to see my brother again.

My Teacher Mr Somerville

My teacher Mr Somerville is a fantastic teacher, he is new to our school at Pt England. He is my favourite teacher so far because he is fun and lets us sit outside on the deck or in the cloakroom. You would want to be in his class next year if you go to Pt England school. The country that he comes from is New Zealand and was born in Napier. He travels around in lots of country's and that is exiting, that is one of the things I like about him. As you walk past our class you will spot him because he has curly hair that looks really cool. Mr Somerville has a wife named Divya, she is really beautiful and she comes from India, WOW. I would like to say goodbye to him and Divya because it is the end of the term tomorrow. Bye have a great trip to Sydney, I will miss you!

Embarrassing moment 2004

It all started on December the 6Th, the day of prize giving. I stood up on at my old school Rapotaka for the first time of my life. As I stood up and walked towards the stage I tripped on the stairs and fell into the gap between it. I tried to get out but I couldn't so the principal came to help me. It was really embarrassing for me because the whole school was watching, I wanted to disappear instantly without anybody noticing.

After I was rescued from the stage I was saved by my mum because she came to kiss me on the cheek because I won a prize for a fantastic student helper. That was my second embarrassing moment for that day! I don’t ever want to be embarrassed in my life again!

Tokyo Disaster

On Friday the 11th of march There has been a huge 8.9 earthquake that just hit Tokyo, followed by a tsunami. It caused lots of major disasters that ruined the place of Tokyo. The tsunami flushed many people into the ocean as they were picking up fish, while the tide and rushed back like a wall of water. The earthquake was out of control damaging roads as it splits in half.

People were taking refuge right after they knew the earthquake hit. Some people were terrified as they saw many people trapped in buildings. God bless Tokyo in life and also help rescuers rescue loved ones from trapped buildings.

At the Beach

As it started to get hot on summer, me and my family members decided to go and cool down at the beach. I was so exited because my favourite cousins were coming. I asked my mum what beach we were going to go to, she said that we are going to go to Mission-bay. I was even more exited when she said Mission-bay, it is one of my favourite beach's. While I was packing in a rush, I thought of how much fun we are going to have. Lots of fun!

Chaos In Christchurch

There has been a terrible earthquake in Christchurch, that just happened yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon. Many have died and most are injured, but there are still people trapped in lots of buildings that have collapsed. Rescuers have saved some more people from houses and buildings so I am sure people have thanked you all. This is very sad and terrible so may people help.

As I watch photos and videos I see hundreds of people come out of buildings with blood all over their body. People have run away with horror as cliffs are destroyed and before parts roll down. People can’t believe this because it is very heart-breaking, I cant even believe it myself.

Family’s have slept in their cars and people don’t even know what to do. I would love to help in many ways so people in Christchurch would have back what they had.
